NHL Future Watch: Josh Doan Hockey Cards, Utah Hockey Club – The Arizona Coyotes drafted Josh Doan with the 37th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft. His size is good at 6’1” as is his lineage. He’s the son of former NHLer Shane Doan. Soon, he will be pictured on his Utah Hockey Club cards. For now, he’s still an Arizona legacy player.
In 2018-19, he played for the 16U Phoenix Jr. Coyotes. He had 17 goals and 19 assists in 30 games.
In 2019-20, he joined one of the better USHL franchises, the Chicago Steel. In 45 games, Doan had five goals and nine assists. It was a learning experience for a young hockey player.
Doan blossomed in 2020-21. In 53 games, he scored 31 goals with 39 assists with 45 PIMS. That combination is something that sets him apart on his team. In eight playoff games, he scored five points. He won the Clark Cup that season and was named to the Second All-Star Team.
In 2021-22, Doan attended Arizona State University, staying close to home. During his freshman season, he scored 12 goals with 25 assists in 35 games.
His sophomore year, he was named team captain. In 39 games, this talented forward scored 16 goals with 22 assists. After that season ended, he turned professional and played in 14 games in the AHL with the Tucson Roadrunners. Doan had six points in 14 games in his rookie campaign.
In 2023-24, Doan had a chance to play 11 games with the Coyotes in the NHL. He had five goals and four assists, but the club made the right decision. They let him play the majority of the season with the Roadrunners. In 62 games, he had 26 goals and 20 assists. He was scoreless in two playoff games. Yet, now he could dream about playing full-time in the best league in the world.
NHL Future Watch: Josh Doan Cards Worth Collecting
Doan’s best card is his 2024-25 Upper Deck Series 1 Young Guns Rookie. This is a well-designed card, and it shows him ready to take a shot. A solid card.
This next card is fun. It’s a 2024-25 Upper Deck Canvas Young Guns Checklist. I have always liked the checklist card, and this one includes Ducks rookie defenseman Olen Zellweger, who has a lot of talent, too.
One last card is his 2024-25 Upper Deck MVP Gold Script Rookie. Shoot high with this one and get one last look at him in a Coyotes uniform.
